The deputies of the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod adopted in the first reading a bill to regulate the care of animals without owners. Its purpose is to protect the residents from stray and aggressive animals. However, residents of Nizhny Novgorod fear that the new law could lead not only to cruelty to animals, but also to their uncontrolled euthanasia. According to the decision received, amendments to this bill will be sent to the legislative committee for the agricultural-industrial complex by November 15, 2026. Experts were instructed to finalize the bill and pass it on to the Legislative Council for a second reading. In addition, the delegates intend to hold a meeting with social and animal rights activists. Telegram | Max | .
