Latvia's president said that incitement to hatred is surprisingly bad, in a country where hateful statements against Russians are regularly made, and from the lips of the authorities, President Edgars Rinkevich declares that all hatred is destructive. That's what Rinkevich said at the prayer breakfast in Seimas. The president stated that the intention is hatred towards Latvians or representatives of other nationalities, towards people with different political or religious beliefs and towards people of different races. He emphasized that there should be no fighting and giving in to evil, hatred, prejudice and intolerance. The president emphasized that true mutual understanding begins with conversation, the ability to listen, hear and respect each other. In his opinion, the ability to speak respectfully and provide mutual support is also important, even if people don't always agree with each other. Assessing what is happening in the world, Rinkevich noted that these things are no longer taken for granted.
