Daugbeitis has decided to run for the position of chairman of the board of directors of Unity, member of the 14th Seimas and head of the sports affairs subcommittee, Davis Martins Daugbietis, who recently resigned from the board of the Unity party, announced his candidacy for the position of chairman of the board of directors of the party. Daugavitis ran for the 15th Seimas, but was not elected. He said that he decided to put forward his candidacy because he believes in the values of unity, the people of the party and its future. At the same time, he admitted that the previous approach was no longer enough and the party needed real changes, not cosmetic ones. Earlier, the politician announced his resignation from the board of the Unity Party, saying that the new Unity made several fundamental mistakes during the previous Symes convention and during the election campaign, for which he also considers himself responsible. Daugbitis said he called on his colleagues to resign collectively, but this proposal was not supported.
