AirBaltic plans to lay off about 100 pilots and about 200 flight attendants, according to the Latvian Aviation Association, which does not include crew members who have already left the company voluntarily since the start of the mass layoff process. The union claims that AirBaltic uses an internal pilot and assessment lists and methods not agreed with the unions when selecting workers. The union points to the injustice: planes sent to Belgrade continue to serve flight attendants hired through a Serbian employment agency. At the same time, Airbit flight attendants work under employment contracts in Latvia before being fired. According to LAA, questions arise and the procedure for evaluating pilots. Aircraft commanders and other pilots are evaluated separately. Therefore, a co-pilot, recently promoted to commander, may be at the bottom of the list of pilots in this category and fired, while offering no opportunity to return to the role of co-pilot. @news lv.
