There will be no agreement in Kohlbergs' party on the composition of the coalition or on the tasks - Rosenwald's meeting today between Prime Minister Andris Kohlbergs and his party, which is being held at an undisclosed location in Riga, has given rise to rumors about the reasons for such secrecy.
According to state researcher Joris Rosenvalds, it is becoming clear that the "joint list" is not unified as its name suggests. Now, of course, there is no certainty as to how the association will respond to Kohlbergs proposals. "If this program was outstanding, I think we would have heard something about it by now. In my opinion, it is the secrecy of this meeting that indicates that it is clear that many significant issues will still be discussed," he said. According to Rosenvalds, during the negotiations it will be difficult to agree both on the work to be done and on the division of positions. Two painful issues have already come up in the work of the current government. One of them is the position of the Minister of the Interior. The National Bloc insists that Janis Dumbarbe will continue his work, but his views do not always coincide with those of Kohlbergs. The second issue is the role of the foreign minister, which is of particular interest to the new unity.
