Throwing objects at teachers and overturning desks: teachers run away from students in schools in Latvia Aggression towards teachers is increasing - both from students and from parents. Ventspils Technical High School teacher Svetlana Yakovitskaya launched a petition on the Kol Mana platform demanding that the city council create a legal support system for teachers. In order for the subject to be examined, 300 teacher signatures are needed, but so far only 50 have been collected. The chairperson of Sheka's trade union, Inga Venga, points out that objects are thrown at teachers, desks are knocked over, and teachers are often silent about incidents for fear of dismissal or condemnation. "If we allow this to happen in schools and kindergartens, then unfortunately, it will be much harder to deal with these people when they are adults. Unfortunately, many do not understand this - not self-government, not the orphans' court, not social services and not institutions subordinate to the Ministry of Welfare," said Venga.
