The American company Archer Aviation has completed the California leg of the No Roads Tour. In three days, Midnight Electric Air Taxi covered 322 km and visited seven cities, flying in the challenging airspace near three major airports. The tests helped test the eVTOL's interaction with conventional passenger aircraft, an important step toward commercial operation. The device is equipped with 12 electric motors with lifting and screwdrivers, powered by six independent battery units. The vehicle is intended for routes with a length of 32-80 km and a speed of about 241 km/hour. The company also expects to reduce the time between flights to 10 minutes. In previous tests, an air taxi covered about 89 km on a single charge. One flight from Auckland Airport to the Marina District took about 10 minutes. In a car in traffic, such a trip can last more than an hour. Archer expects such short routes in busy urban areas to be one of the main scenarios for using an electric air taxi.
