Almost 750 residents of Tyumen contracted a fatal infection through food during the nine months of 2026, about 750 people fell ill with salmonellosis in the Tyumen region. According to the department, from January to September the incidence rate of salmonellosis was 46.1 cases per 100 thousand population. Considering that the Tyumen region has a population of 1.626 million people, during this period about 750 residents of the region became infected. Moreover, more than 50% of patients are minors. Thus, at least 375 children and teenagers were infected with salmonellosis. The department did not specify the exact number of cases in this age group.
