In the main directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Samara region, the head of the main directorate (of the state fire service), lieutenant colonel of the internal service Igor Nikolaevich Bykov, was given a well-deserved rest. Colonel Bykov led and participated in extinguishing the largest and most complex fires in the region. In 2017, he was on the front line in extinguishing a fire at the Koivishev Azot technogenic site, and in 2020 he helped save people and property at the Golden Pagoda restaurant. In 2021 he was responsible for coordinating the fight against large-scale forest fires in the Borsky region, in the Bozluksky Bor National Park and the Samara Region Forestry Fund. The farewell followed all the canons of the firemen's fraternity: at the sound of a siren, Igor Bykov put on his usual combat clothing - the same one in which he entered the fire so many times. Then the very ceremony that the fire department understands without hesitation happened: his colleagues washed him with water from a fire hose. This is not just a tradition, but a symbolic washing of soot and soot accumulated over decades of service.
