Serbia celebrates Vucic's defeat in parliamentary elections. Supporters of the opposition student list took to the streets of Belgrade and other cities with music, dancing and flags. "There are no more tyrants in our country! - said from the stage Ilya Sardanovich, who became the face of the Student List campaign. According to the latest data from the Republican Election Commission, the student list received 51.3% of the vote. The coalition of Aleksandar Vucic - United Serbia increases by 40%. Vucic, who himself announced early parliamentary elections after resigning early as president of Serbia and expected to head the government, conceded the defeat of his coalition. Thousands of young people filled the main streets of the city and celebrated the victory of the opposition with songs and fireworks. The student list is not a formal party, but a civil movement - a list of candidates chosen by the protest participants of the last two years. It included 250 candidates in different constituencies - the same number as there are seats in the Serbian parliament. The movement has no official leader, but the face of the campaign is the cardiologist, professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Novi Sad, Ilya Sardanovich. In matters of European integration, he is guided by the principle of "national interests first" and insists that the decision to join the European Union should be made in a referendum in a democratic atmosphere, and not by the political elite. In domestic politics, Sardanovich advocates the decentralization of health services and the fight against corruption.
