The average price of Urals oil was $101.46 per barrel. According to official data from the Ministry of Economic Development, the average price of Russian Urals oil was $101.46 per barrel. Industry statistics haven't seen numbers like this in over a decade. The last time a barrel of Urals cost more than $100 was in 2014, although world oil prices at certain times were even higher than now. There were no hundred dollar prices for Ural even in February-March 2022. Then, against the background of the beginning of this and the first threat of a supply shortage, the average monthly price of Russian oil only approached this level, but could not overcome it. The current price jump (the September figure was also at a high level, close to $90) was ensured by a combination of two processes: a general increase in the price of raw materials on world exchanges due to the Middle East crisis and a sharp reduction in the discount on Russian varieties. The gap between the North Sea index Brent and the Russian Ural, which previously reached 20-30 dollars, has been reduced to a minimum. The main reason for the change in price proportions was the acute lack of safe supply on the world market.
