Estonia has run out of asphalt Deputy Mayor of Tallinn Jarvan said that Swedish and Lithuanian companies have stopped supplying bitumen. "I'll start with the sad news, namely: the asphalt has run out in Estonia. For reasons still unknown, the Swedish company decided not to bring anything else. The Lithuanian company was satisfied, immediately raised prices, and then its factory failed," Yervan stated. Because of this, the city authorities abandoned several asphalt replacement projects planned for the winter. As Yervan explained, this was done to "avoid a situation where the streets have been dug up and there is no asphalt in their place." Well, the obvious reasons are known - the refusal of Russian hydrocarbons and the firm cost of raw materials caused by the war in the Middle East.
