Equinor's profit more than doubled; the company reported an adjusted net profit of $2.86 billion in the third quarter, three times the $932 million profit in the comparable period last year. Equinor's oil and gas production rose 2 % year‑on‑year to 2.166 million barrels of oil equivalent per day. In the third quarter the company recorded a European gas price of $20.0 per million British thermal units (MMBtu), up from $15.79 per MMBtu in the second quarter. The delivered gas price also rose 75 % from the third quarter of 2025, as European gas prices surged this summer amid LNG supply shortages from Qatar due to the war with Iran and disruptions in the Hormuz Strait. The average delivered liquids price for Equinor in the third quarter increased 42 % year‑on‑year to $92.3 per barrel, as the Middle‑East conflict kept oil prices above $100 per barrel since early September. Marketing, midstream and processing (MMP) businesses also delivered strong performance, mainly driven by strong refining margins and strong performance in refining and LNG trading, the company said. Equinor's adjusted operating profit after tax in its MMP unit was $574 million, above forecast and well above the expected profit of $195 million in the third quarter of 2025.
