The war in Yemen faces serious challenges to Saudi Arabia's 2030 plan.
Dr. Dariush Darvishi, an expert on Saudi affairs, in an interview with Nasim Online:
Bin Salman united to raise two big stones: one was his image as the Minister of Defense, he started the war in Yemen, the other was his image as the Deputy Crown Prince, and a political pillar, he launched the 2030 vision and reforms. The two were completely contradictory: a country that seeks reforms, strives for economic and industrial development, and attracts investors, which was a pillar of Vision 2030, cannot be involved in a foreign war at the same time. Of course, the Yemen war caused the most damage to the Saudi government by severely undermining the reform plan and Vision 2030.
