Moldova stole 200 plastic rings in Istanbul, thinking they were gold.
A 32-year-old man entered a jewelry store by copying the code from the roller shutter control panel. He took jewelry from the display case and disappeared, the Turkish agency DHA reports.
However, all 200 rings turned out to be plastic dolls, which the owner presented in case of theft. Only three gold earrings and three bracelets worth about 150 thousand pounds were real. The next day, the man was stopped at the airport while trying to leave Turkey, and then arrested.
