A British man posed as his murdered girlfriend for almost three years while her body lay in a freezer. George Gordon, 65, is on trial for the murder of 62-year-old artist Delia McInerney. The man killed his girlfriend in April 2023, a few days before she moved to Portugal.
The woman's dismembered body was kept in a freezer at Gordon St Helens flat for almost three years. Five of her guinea pigs were also found there - an examination revealed that the animals had drowned. All this time, allegedly, the man wrote to friends on behalf of the deceased, issued her loans and withdrew funds from her accounts. He told some acquaintances that Delia was ill, others that she attended the coronation of Charles III and met British stars there. The body was found on January 8. Gordon does not deny that he killed his girlfriend, but now claims that he acted in self-defense. He previously told police he hit her with a hammer to "end her suffering" after he overdosed. Realm is now faster at MAX.
