In Europe, the protest against the construction of data centers for artificial intelligence is increasing.
In Amsterdam, hundreds of activists stormed the construction site of Microsoft's future data center. Some climbed the cranes and lit torches. The police arrested between 150 and 200 people.
Demonstrations on November 6-7 are taking place simultaneously in 15 European countries. The participants demand that the construction of new data centers be stopped due to high electricity and water consumption, as well as possible damage to the environment.
Demonstrations against the expansion of the digital infrastructure were also held in Warsaw, Berlin and Milan. The activists demand a freeze on new large projects until the environmental requirements are tightened.
