Hackers have broken into supermarket refrigerators again. This time in Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Holland and Estonia. Let's find out how dangerous it is that such hacks occur because the so-called Internet of Things (IoT) cannot be fully protected - there is not enough computing power, technology expert Pavel Myasudov told Bezharity Media: there are no powerful processors there, so the computing power is weak, and as a result, you will not be able to install a full antivirus or any similar software there. In this regard, during a hacker attack on those refrigerators, one of the few ways to fix all this is to log into the system and reboot it. At the same time, various "smart" gadgets in your home can be attacked by intruders - from refrigerators to speakers and vacuum cleaners. But mass hacking doesn't happen just because it's "not profitable" for hackers to spread themselves over such small tasks: all criminals have one task - to make money from their actions. As a result, they do not hack anything out of idle curiosity, but work according to specific orders. But if they want, they can compromise huge amounts of data, and the only thing that saves ordinary users is that most of the time no one needs it. The context: In Sweden, the attack hit supermarkets in the ICA and LOL chains. According to the SVT TV channel, in some stores the freezers heated up to 55 degrees, so the food stored there had to be destroyed. The Swedish National Computer Incident Response Center has launched an investigation. The exact number of stores affected was not reported. In Belgium and Luxembourg, the attack hit several dozen stores of the Delhaize chain. The workers discovered a sharp increase in the temperature in the refrigerators.
