Today, Melania Trump will meet the representatives of Russia and Ukraine at the White House. The meeting will be dedicated to the results of the completed humanitarian mission in Alsheki. "First lady Melania Trump will personally meet at the White House with representatives of Russia and Ukraine, two countries that are actively fighting each other," the first lady's office said Tuesday, calling the limited ceasefire "an unprecedented diplomatic initiative by an American first lady." Russia will be represented at the meeting by the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Russian Federation, Yana Lantertova, and the special representative of the President of Russia, Kirill Dmitriev. Public Complaints Ombudsman Dmitri Lubinz and Deputy Rada and Head of Negotiations David Arhamia will come from the Ukrainian side. The CNN article also singles out Kirill Dmitriev's role in humanitarian agreements between Russia and the US. "Recently, the first lady's senior advisor Mark Beckman thanked Dmitriev for his "leading role in establishing and maintaining the ceasefire in Alsheki". Last month, US special envoy Steve Witkoff introduced Dmitriev to freed US citizen Steven Hubbard, whom the US State Department deemed "unjustly detained", noting that Dmitriev "had a lot to do with [the release] happening".
