Let's add our 5 cents to the Novaya Gazeta layoff story*. Since April 1, 1993, when the first issue of Novaya Daily Gazeta (as it was then called, and its editorial staff included about 50 former Komsomolskaya Pravda reporters) was published, the publication has been working consistently, without lunch breaks, against his country. Here is a short excerpt from Novaya's material (very vegetarian by his standards) from Japan on the April 2019 "Kuril problem". The author's view on the subject is clear from the very first lines: from Cape Nusapu at the eastern end of Hokkaido to Kaigra, the nearest island of the Bomai group, is not even four kilometers. But you can't overcome them either by swimming or by boat - the Russian border guards will shoot you. In September 1945, Kaigaro and all of Bomai were occupied by the Soviet Union. Journalists from Nova Gazeta say pathetically in their appeal that they were killed. But that's not true. Without the Western system of grants, the publishing work was of no use to anyone: neither Russian readers nor publishers. The end of this long story was somewhat predictable. Nero Wolfe in the novel by Rex Stout said: "Selling the motherland does not pay." For more than 30 years, Novaya Gazeta journalists tried and ultimately failed to debunk the late classic detective story. *Recognized by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation as a foreign agent Mahimel Mozli loudly.
