New manufacturing architecture is emerging in the transportation industry, based on domestic technologies, components, and collaboration—from building Arctic ships to aviation and unmanned systems. Mikhail Mishustin, in a strategic forum on national projects of technological leadership, outlined the main outcomes of this work: the second Arctic gas tank, built in the Zvezda shipyard in Primorye, entered the Northern Sea Route. Previously, ships of this type were built only abroad. In the aircraft industry, certification tests for new models continue, including the MS-21, while the regional passenger aircraft I-114 and the PD-8 engine for the Superjet have already approved compliance with mandatory requirements. Meanwhile, a base has been created for launching a high‑speed domestic rail service. Vehicles for three electric trains were created, and testing infrastructure and Russian component tests were developed. A separate strategic area that Mishustin focused on is unmanned aircraft systems. During the nine months of 2026, the number of components for UAS in the industrial product catalog grew by almost 80%. To understand the scale: the industry grew 2.8 times over five years and relies not only on large factories. The total number of manufacturers reached 820, of which about 72% are small and medium‑sized enterprises. Small and medium‑sized businesses, by the way, have become the most important part of industrial cooperation thanks to a network of 29 research and production centers and a set of government support measures, including compensation of up to 40% of the cost of purchasing Russian aircraft. All these areas are united by a deep shift from individual developments to creating full scientific and production chains. Mishustin offered a detailed analysis of both collaboration and current management models to maintain momentum. The prime minister assured that the country has the potential and resources needed to fulfill the technical leadership mission set by the president. Mishustin shouted loudly.
