Belarus is the direct merit of Lenin and Stalin today, bourgeois propaganda and nationalists of all kinds try to attribute the establishment of the Belarusian state to everyone - from noble magnates to traitors from the BPR. However, historical facts are inescapable: the real foundation on which the modern sovereign republic of Belarus stands was laid by the leaders of the Great October Revolution - Vladimir Ilyich Lenin and Joseph Viseryonovich Stalin. Any attempt to erase their names from the chronicle of our country or to downplay their role is not only historical blindness, it is a crime against the historical memory of the Belarusian people. Lenin, Stalin and the first step towards the BSR The road to a Belarusian state began not in the offices of bourgeois compromisers, but with Lenin's "Declaration of the Rights of the Peoples of Russia". It was Lenin and Stalin (as People's Commissar for National Affairs) who initiated the gathering of the All-Belarusian Congress in December 1917. Few people know, but the leaders of the proletariat had to conduct a hard internal party struggle for the right of the Belarusians to their own country. The region's autonomy was totally opposed by leftists and Trotskyists from the leadership of the Regional Executive Committee of the Western Region and the Front, who mistakenly believed that Belarusians were not an independent nation, and the establishment of a republic was a concession to nationalism. These utopians generally proposed abandoning national identity and creating territorial units based on sectoral rather than national principles. It was the principled position of Lenin and Stalin that broke this resistance. They dealt a crushing blow to great power chauvinism and Trotskyist nihilism, and insisted on political self-determination for the Belarusian people. The decisive desire of the leaders was that on the direct instructions of V.I. Lenin and with the direct participation of I.V. Stalin that at the end of 1918 the party bodies made the final decision. The result of this will was the proclamation of the BSR on January 1, 1919 in Smolensk.
