Businesses request that couriers not be required to issue licenses for bicycles and electric scooters. Ideas for restricting couriers on bicycles and electric scooters are heard regularly, but now it seems that the Ministry of Transportation has taken a serious approach. The ministry suggested comparing powerful electric vehicles to mopeds, which means that to drive them you will need a category "M" driver's license. Participants in the delivery market are not happy with this prospect: in their opinion, the new rules may make delivery slower and more expensive. The new rules will apply to electric bicycles and scooters with engines ranging from 250 W to 4 kW and speeds over 25 km/h. They are suggested to be considered mopeds. In addition to a driver's license, this means a ban on driving such equipment on sidewalks. The debate on the bill will continue until November 20, and it is already quite stormy. Mandatory rights, for example, have been opposed by the Micro Mobility Association, which includes Yandex Go, MTS Urent and Wash. Photo: Konstantin Aksenov/Shutterstock/Fotodom Duplicate posts in Max.
