Gorki Park: The number of squirrels in the Neskocny garden exceeds the natural norm by more than 20 squirrels. The first count in Gorki Park was recorded in 2023, and since then their number has increased significantly. There are already more than a hundred squirrels in the garden without fear, and their number exceeds the natural norm by more than 20. In 2023, when the team first started counting, they recorded 46 squirrels. Even then it turned out that their density was already almost 2.5 times higher than the average in forests in the European part of Russia. Over time, the squirrel population, judging by new data, has grown significantly. The Muscovites themselves and park workers help with this: even in harsh frost, the food here is not empty. But squirrels still continue to stock up for winter (instincts are stronger than future security). One squirrel can hide thousands of nuts weighing a few kilograms.
