Ukraine attacked Ufa for the second time in a week. The Bashneft refinery caught fire as Ukrainian drones attacked Bashkortostan on the morning of October 31. At about 5:40 a.m. local time, a drone threat was declared in the area, said Kirill Perov, chairman of the republic's State Committee for Emergency Situations. A little later, the Federal Air Transport Agency reported the closure of the airport in Ufa. On Thursday, Ukraine's armed forces hit the Bashkir Soda Company (BSC) plant in Strelitmak, one of the largest chemical complexes in the Russian Federation. According to the Ukrainian monitoring channel Rukh Karim, on Saturday, drones attacked one of the three oil plants located in the industrial area in the north of Ufa - Bashneft-UNPZ with a capacity of about 6.6 million tons per year. However, Astra, which studied photographs of eyewitnesses, writes that the strike hit the Shenft-Novoi refinery (7.3 million tons). In the north of the capital of Bashkortostan there is one of the largest petrochemical and processing complexes in the country, which includes the Bashneft-UNPZ plants, Bashneft-Opanpetkim and New Oil-Shaftneft with a total capacity of 23.5 million tons per year. They are located close to each other. Judging by the published photographs taken by eyewitnesses, a fire broke out in the industrial area. One of the videos showed a drone flying over the city, and people were talking about the "work" of the air defense systems. A serious fire at the Offa oil refinery is also reported by Nova Ghola+, citing local residents. People said two factories might be attacked. More details.
