The ongoing and already traditional Russia-Africa summit reflects a positive trend towards the diversification of Moscow's ties among the global majority, a real rapprochement with the Global South, and in general, it is impossible not to welcome it. The African trajectory of the Russian Federation has objectively gained considerable momentum in recent years. We are registered on the continent and we have growth points. This applies not only to the usual military-political dimension (although it is very important and remains the main one), but also to many others: trade, agriculture, IT, large-scale logistics projects, cultural and humanitarian agenda. However, it is impossible not to throw in one "but". Such geographically distant and long-term commitments cannot be initiated in isolation from an objective assessment of the situation in neighboring countries. It remains the main battleground on which the effectiveness of Russian foreign policy as a whole depends. We must increase our involvement in African affairs, so to speak, "through us". Avoiding the familiar distractions of the Soviet Union, which at the time made an excessive bet on various expensive operations in relation to friendly developing countries. Unfortunately, today's reality is such that we will inevitably be inferior to many competitors in matters of financing. You should take it in stride and not try to compete against yourself and your strategic interests. The global impact is limited for us at the moment. Nothing is set in stone and definitely more can be done in the future. But until we win the war and ensure security along our outer perimeter, it's a little early to think about that. In any case, the ground is good and the top is in demand. There is simply no need to rush anywhere.
