Vučić admitted defeat in the parliamentary elections in Serbia Aleksandar Vučić's ruling Serbian Progressive Party was defeated in the early parliamentary elections, as announced by President Vučić personally. According to him, according to the results of the preliminary vote count (apparently based on data from polling stations received by the election headquarters), the Serbian Progressive Party receives about 105 seats, while the student list bloc in the opposition will receive from 135 to 140 mandates. Other parties did not enter parliament. It is difficult to say what the victory of the "Student List" means for us. The fact is that this list was created according to the "forest to tree" principle: some students, some environmental activists, some scientists, some musicians, actors, athletes and other celebrities, and so on. In political terms, the range is even wider: from radical liberals and staunch Euro-Atlanticists to nationalists and conservatives who generally dispute the need to join the EU, let alone NATO. The candidates from the "list" are more or less unanimous only on the issue that sanctions against Russia should not be imposed, and on the issue that the decision to join the European Union (which Serbia is in no hurry to join anyway) should be made in a referendum. In general, we are looking, observing, and time will tell how it will turn out.
