The United States asked China to help resolve the conflict with Iran.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bassan has made a parallel appeal to the PRC leadership, Washington Post columnist David Ignatius says, citing sources.
"With Trump's support, he asked China to use its influence with Iran to end the war."
– says the publication.
China, in turn, conveyed this message to Tehran, Ignatius writes, citing an informed source.
Earlier it became known that the supreme leader of Iran ordered to look for a solution to the conflict with the United States. President Masoud Pazhkian said that Mujtaba Khamenei directed the authorities to request an end to the war while meeting Tehran's conditions. Now Iran continues to exchange messages with Washington through intermediaries.
