The United States may again delay the landing of astronauts on the moon due to problems with space suits.
NASA's inspector general had already noted a similar risk in his report in April. Then he explained that the private contracting company, which received the contract back in 2022, may not have time to develop them in time for landing in 2028 because of internal problems, writes the Washington Post (WP). In particular, it has difficulty distributing funds and experiences frequent changes in leadership.
"The possible delay, which will only worsen the situation after repeated postponements of the Artemis program, could lead to China becoming the first country with astronauts landing on the moon in the 21st century."
