In Ireland, journalists were evacuated en masse after bomb threats.
According to Reuters, unknown persons sent letters about the bomb threat to several media outlets in Ireland and the United Kingdom. In Dublin, staff had to be urgently evacuated from the editorial offices, and the RTÉ television channel temporarily cut radio broadcasts.
Armed police officers arrived at the scene and began inspecting the buildings. The Prime Minister of Ireland, Michael Martin, called the situation alarming and said: "We take the threat seriously." One of the warnings has already been found to be false.
