Norway will strengthen its military presence on the border with Russia in the Finnmark region. By the end of 2026, more than 30 military personnel will arrive in the region, and sensors for Nasmes anti-aircraft missile systems will also be placed there. The Kingdom's Ministry of Defense emphasized that new sensors are needed to track errant UAVs. The reason was incidents with "lost" UAVs in Europe. At the same time, the authorities note that there is currently no direct air threat to the area, and the situation at the border remains stable.
