Primorye doctors removed a fragment of a needlefish's jaw from a child's mouth. The Regional Ministry of Health reported that a seven-year-old boy was vacationing in Thailand with his parents, and at one point a stingray bit the boy a few centimeters from his eye. Local doctors sutured the wound in the fold of the nose, but upon returning to Vladivostok the family turned to oral and maxillofacial surgeons. A computed tomography scan showed that a jaw fragment about 2 cm long was stuck in the tissue below the eye. The doctors were able to pull out the fracture without making a single additional incision. Now the child is not in danger, and he is recovering. Photo: Ministry of Health of the Primorsky Territory.
