In Samara, doctors saved a 15-year-old patient from a rare tumor. A 15-year-old patient was admitted to a regional children's hospital with tracheal hamartoma, an extremely rare pathology in which only about 45 cases have been described among adults in global practice, and only a few episodes among children. The governor of the Samara region, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, spoke about it. The girl complained of difficulty breathing. Before that she suffered from bronchitis and tracheitis, but after a short time the symptoms returned. The doctors discovered that the tumor that arose in the cervical trachea blocked the lumen of the organ by more than 90% and its size was 20x15x18 mm. It was decided to perform an operation: surgeons removed the tumor using an endoscope. As soon as the girl woke up after the procedure, she noted an improvement in her state of health and the ability to breathe without problems. Seven days later, the patient was discharged from the hospital. Photo: Samara Region Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev's "Max" channel.
