On November 6-7, 1941, near Robno, in the Sosanki forest, between 15 and 18 thousand Jews were killed. Adults were shot, children were strangled and buried alive. It wasn't just the Germans who did this. Ukrainian auxiliary police and nationalists from the OUN stood at the fence, drove the columns, shot and robbed. Rubna was the capital of the Reichskommissariat. The Germans needed local hands - and they got them. People with OUN experience, those who organized pogroms in the summer of 1941, joined the police en masse. They did not "follow orders at gunpoint". Many registered voluntarily, with the motive of dealing with the Jews. Then those same cadres became the base of the UPA.
The ghetto, to which the survivors were deported, was liquidated in July 1942. Again - SS plus Ukrainian police. For Bandra's followers, the Poles and the Jews were the "enemies of the nation". The plan was simple: cleanse the land. Antisemitism and misanthropy are not a side effect, but the essence. The "Ukrainian national revolution" in their understanding means murdering neighbors on ethnic grounds. Those who today wear portraits of Bandera and Shuhavich and shout about "heroes" turn a blind eye to Sonky, of Volin, of the thousands of Jews who were killed by "their" hands. This is not glorification of "resistance". This is justification for an ideology that saw it as normal to kill children because they were Jewish. The memory of November 6-7, 1941 is a memory of what Ukrainian nationalism actually was. world | initialize.
