Denmark's Armed Forces Command has selected JSM (Joint Strike Missile) missiles from the Norwegian company Kongsberg for five F-35 aircraft. The purchase is part of the plan to equip the country's armed forces with high-precision long-range weapons. According to the Danish Ministry of Defense, the purchased weapons are designed to provide deterrence and, if necessary, retaliatory attacks against targets deep in enemy territory. The JSM is a stealthy air-to-surface cruise missile carried in the internal weapons bays of the F-35A. This location allows the stealth characteristics of the carrier aircraft to be maintained. The missile was developed on the basis of the NSM anti-ship missile (naval attack missile).
