Trump promised a "big beautiful deal" on Ukraine US President Donald Trump announced a "big beautiful deal" on Ukraine, which "may affect all of Europe". Answering questions from reporters after a meeting with Vladimir Putin's envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, Trump said: It will be a deal, it will be a big deal. It will be very big. It will not only affect Ukraine, I would even say, it could affect all of Europe. It's going to be a big, wonderful deal and everyone is going to be absolutely thrilled. Trump called the law he signed in July 2025 almost the same way (a big, beautiful bill). This legislation included cuts in federal taxes and increased spending on defense and border security to serve the purpose of fighting illegal immigrants. This law is currently the main initiative of Trump's second term in the White House.
