School vacations were extended in Crimea due to power outages. The head of the region annexed by Russia, Sergei Aksenov, called the reason for extending the holidays "the current difficult situation" and called on "everyone to treat the situation with understanding." According to him, classes should resume on November 9. Crimea remained without electricity on the night of November 3. Initially, the regional authorities spoke of an "accident in the main networks", but on November 4, as the outages continued, the Russian Energy Ministry admitted that the reason was the attacks by the armed forces of Ukraine on the energy infrastructure.
