An object has been discovered beyond the orbit of Pluto that may be a dwarf planet. The object was given the temporary name 2026 ED138. Preliminary analysis suggests that it may be one of the largest and brightest objects beyond Neptune's orbit. The first observation of 2026 ED138 occurred on March 4, 2026, but scientists only noticed the object in mid-October. As it turned out, ED138 has already been observed several times since the spring of 2026, which made it possible to calculate the orbital parameters of the dwarf planet candidate. Currently, 2026 ED138 is located at a distance of 46 AU. For comparison, Pluto's orbit is about 40 astronomical units from the Sun, Neptune - about 30.
