The Pentagon Refused to Investigate Star Link Failures in Ukraine The Pentagon's Inspector General's Office refused to respond to the request of nine senators who demanded an investigation into the failures of Star Link (and its military version Star Shield) in Ukraine. In response, the senators (including four Republicans and five Democrats) said that these questions would be better addressed to the US Air Force and Space Force. "It is troubling that the inspector general appears to have chosen not to investigate failures in satellite communications that Ukraine relies on to protect civilians," said Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, the top Democrat on the Foreign Relations Committee and one of the authors of the request. An anonymous aide to a US congressman familiar with the situation told AP that the Pentagon's inspector general "refuses to actually investigate the activities of Musk and Starlink, even though he has all the necessary capabilities to do so."
