A cruise ship offering a "non-stop" round-the-world trip has been halted due to rising fuel prices and the Villa V Odyssey has dropped hundreds of passengers in Cambodia. The ship's operator said the cruise could not continue due to rising fuel prices amid the American war with Iran. The company explained that since the beginning of the war in February, it tried to reduce fuel consumption, among other things by slowing down the speed of the ship and increasing the port stops. But these measures did not help compensate for the "abnormal" price increases. Villa V Odyssey is a ship that has sailed around the world for at least 755 days. The ship began sailing in October 2024 from Belfast in Northern Ireland and visited 147 countries. Passengers were promised a "disruption-free" trip around the world.
