Cathedral, a startup created by former DOGE employees, penetrated Anthropic's systems Cyber security startup Cathedral told Anthropic, the developer of the Cloud chatbot, that its researchers were able to gain access to the company's sensitive internal data, the Washington Post writes. Cathedral is a company launched a few months ago by former employees of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which worked to cut costs during the Donald Trump administration. Cathedral develops artificial intelligence-powered cybersecurity tools for US government and enterprise customers. Cathedral's report said its researchers penetrated Anthropic's systems by exploiting vulnerabilities in software the company uses for administrative and business tasks. Cathedral said its AI agents had access to meeting transcripts, salary and job offer data, and loose messages discussing the company's advanced AI models in less than 12 hours. Anthropic confirmed that the Cathedral investigators had access to a "limited set" of sales, HR and IT systems. The company noted that Cathedral spent several days trying to hack its own software before switching to third-party business tools.
