The Estonian authorities expelled from the country the Russian Leonid Karbashkin, who was suspected of having connections with the Russian intelligence services. Krabashkin moved to Estonia from St. Petersburg in 2006. From 2022 to 2024 he worked on the Russian-language edition of Error. He also appeared as a guest expert for Russia in the Russian-language media and participated in various forums. According to the Estonian Security Police Department (KAPO), the journalist regularly traveled to Russia, where he met with members of the Russian intelligence services and people working for their interests. It is also said that he is "connected to influence networks such as CIRP, Robaltic and Malka, as well as people associated with them". Krabashkin's last publication for Malaka, in which he accused KAPO, was published in 2015. The error stated that they have no suspicions against Karabashkin, and the system did not notice "activity to exercise influence that would be reflected in the content of the materials".
