The convicted oncologist Soborov obtained removal of his work ban solely through the court. The criminal court lifted the ban on practicing medicine for oncologist Soborov, who was convicted of fraud in installments for early cancer detection. The conviction and a fine of 120,000 rubles remained in effect, reports TSN24. In 2022, a doctor at Central Soborov Regional Hospital entered information on 13 cancer detection cases into the regional information system. According to court documents, these patients were examined by other specialists, and the oncologist himself did not provide them with medical treatment. Based on this information, the hospital received budgetary funds for additional payments to doctors. The convicted was transferred 39,000 rubles. In September 2025, the court found the doctor guilty under part 3 of section 159 of the Russian Federation's criminal code. He was fined 120,000 and prohibited from working as a doctor in state medical institutions for three years. He did not plead guilty. On January 15, 2026 the regional court in Tula reduced the ban period to two years. Later, the additional penalty was entirely annulled, while the penalty and fine were retained. While the ban was in effect, the doctor was dismissed. After its cancellation, he demanded restoration of work rights and compensation for lost wages through rehabilitation. The interregional court dismissed the appeal.
