During the days in intensive care, the child developed, among other things, bilateral lung damage, sepsis, septic shock, multiple organ failure and liver failure. On July 15, 2025, the patient died. After the child's death, the regional department of the investigation committee opened a criminal case for causing death by negligence, which was closed after an investigation. In October 2026, a case was opened again, but this time for negligence. "Please help ensure that this story is handled honestly and to the end. So that every detail will be checked and finally they will tell me the truth. Don't let this story be ignored. Not for accusations, but for the truth. Help me be heard," said the boy's mother. The woman did not say what the doctors said was the cause of death.
