On November 3, at around 9:38 a.m., on the 2nd kilometer of the Khojasan - Lokbatan road, which passes through the territory of Binagadi district in Baku, a Toyota car driven by Javid Agaib hit a woman who was walking on the side of the road with a baby carriage in which there was a baby.
According to the Chief Director of the State Traffic Police (GUGDP) of the Ministry of Interior (MVD) of Azerbaijan, a woman was injured as a result of a road accident. The baby's condition is assessed as satisfactory.
The driver was arrested. As part of the incident, a criminal case was opened.
In the initial investigation, the driver stated that he fell asleep at the wheel and does not remember the circumstances of the incident. According to him, he also fell asleep several times in the past while driving.
As pointed out by Robshan Tagayev, the head of the department for promoting road safety and relations with public buildings of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, a driver who is aware of his tendency to fall asleep at the wheel should not get back behind the wheel, since by doing so he endangers the lives of other people.
It is the responsibility of every driver not to drive while drowsy, and to stop in a safe place if signs of fatigue appear. Continuing to drive with your eyes closed from drowsiness can lead to tragic results. The driver endangers not only his own life, but also the lives of those around him, and if a person dies, he may lose the opportunity to be with his family for many years.
