Azerbaijani judoka Ibrahim Talibov won a gold medal at the IV Summer Youth Olympic Games held in the capital of Senegal, Dakar.
This is the first gold of the Azerbaijan team in the tournament.
The judoka, who competed in the weight category up to 55 kg, won the final over the Croatian Juna Zborch.
We will remind you that Talibov started the fight from the 1/4 final stage. In the first two meetings, he knocked out Ibrahim Musana from the Central African Republic and the representative of Saudi Arabia, Murats Heba.
Azerbaijan is represented in Dakar 2026 by 13 athletes in 8 sports, the tournament will end on November 13.
