This is what the chairman of the board of directors of the coordinating center for organ donation and transplantation, Yagyana Abbasova, said at a conference on the occasion of the anniversary of the first donor heart transplant in Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus.
According to her, the Republic should also create a national registry of stem cells.
In addition, the head of the center noted the feasibility of including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and genetic testing for patients awaiting a kidney transplant in a mandatory medical insurance package.
