The Prime Minister of Lebanon, Nawaf Salam: The decision on war, peace and weapons must remain with the country alone.
Salam said the government was not lost or confused, accusing some groups of linking their interests to foreign powers. According to him, such groups repeatedly drag Lebanon into "absurd wars" that give Israel excuses to expand its Israel in the south. Nothing protects Lebanon, he said, except everyone's obligation to keep weapons exclusively in the hands of the state.
