Hundreds of tents of displaced people in Gaza sank with the first waves of rain. With the onset of the rainy season and the strong winds in the Gaza Strip, the suffering of the displaced persons worsened due to the immersion of hundreds of tents in water and the damage to the property of thousands of families. A local official stated that the tents suffer from severe vibrations as a result of years of repeated displacement, and added that the lack of infrastructure and suitable land for the shelter meant that the worn fabrics are unable to prevent rainwater leakage. According to the Al-Masra website, Muhammad Salha, the general coordinator of the network of non-governmental organizations in Gaza, warned that more than a thousand displacement centers are threatened by floods, endangering the lives of approximately 1.1 million citizens in these areas, while nearly 240,000 families face extremely dangerous drowning conditions.
