Iran: 72 out of 197 fake news and rumors detected from October 29 to November 4 were denied. Of the cases, 47, about 65 percent, were checked in the fake news monitoring room, the country's cyberspace communications headquarters said. Denials were published within about five hours on average, and 82 percent within the first 12 hours, although some fake news remained in circulation for up to four days. The most viewed item concerned the self-immolation of a PhD student at the University of Tehran, while the most renewed denial related to Iran's response to the J.D. letter. Vanessa and the most fake news they reposted claimed an imminent deal between Iran and the United States. Most of the rumors concern the negotiations between Iran and the USA, the nuclear program, regional developments and social and internal affairs.
